About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Plant Fitter to join our team. You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of construction plant and equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, service, and repair plant machinery including crawler cranes, excavators, dumpers, compressors, rollers, and small tools.
* Carry out planned preventative and proactive maintenance and safety inspections.
* Respond to breakdowns on-site locations.
* Quickly and effectively diagnose faults on equipment to ensure minimal downtime and communicate to line manager and site management.
* Maintain accurate service records and paperwork.
* Carry out any other duties, as instructed by the line manager.
* Work to health & safety standards at all times.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Engineer.
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, and diesel engines.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
* Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Plant Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering (desirable).
* 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
