Role Summary
Nursery Teaching Assistant – Part Time (3 Days per Week) - Term Time Only
Location: Windlesham School & Nursery, Brighton
Contract: Part-time, 3 days per week (preferably Monday, Wednesday, Friday) with some flexibility
Salary: £18,102 FTE – Pro Rata = £10,861
Start Date: TBC
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our small, close-knit Nursery team and support two experienced practitioners. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an independent school setting where you will contribute to a warm, nurturing environment that enables our youngest children to flourish. Furthermore, our Nursery is very much part of the whole school and so you will get access to opportunities to work with older children at times.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting daily nursery activities alongside experienced staff
* Assisting in the planning and delivery of a broad, engaging curriculum tailored for early years
* Creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for young people
* Helping to maintain high standards of care, wellbeing, and pastoral support
* Working collaboratively with the Nursery team to foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere
* Providing cover in classes, including outside of Nursery, when colleagues are absent from work
* Supporting the individual needs of young people to help them thrive emotionally and academically
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of Level 2 Childcare qualification
* Experience working with young people in an Early Years setting preferred
* Ability to work three days a week

* Resilient and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to the ongoing education and wellbeing of young people
* Proactive in supporting young people’s emotional and academic growth, working in partnership with staff and parents
* Hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate (not essential, but highly desirable)
* Have regard to guidance and policies related to the EYFS: including, but not limited to, safe eating, ratios and intimate care
* Be proactive and prepared to act as a key person for a group of children
* Have a knowledge of child development and SEND to contribute to planning and assessment
