About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Menswear Designer to join the design team of a well-established fashion and lifestyle brand based in Leeds. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the seasonal menswear collections, working closely with the Buying, Design, and Senior Leadership teams. You will bring a strong sense of style, an in-depth understanding of current trends, and a sharp eye for detail across graphics, prints, fabrics, and silhouettes. Your work will directly influence product ranges across all menswear categories, from initial concept through to final sign-off and supplier liaison. This role would suit a creative and collaborative designer with strong commercial awareness, technical skills, and a passion for delivering original, brand-right designs.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop seasonal menswear collections that align with the brand's creative direction and customer base.
* Create seasonal mood boards, colour palettes, and trend inspiration aligned with commercial objectives.
* Develop graphics, prints, embroideries, and branding elements with expert use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
* Work closely with the Buying team to ensure all designs meet commercial and costing expectations.
* Provide detailed tech packs to suppliers and collaborate closely through the sampling and development process.
* Attend design sign-off meetings and contribute confidently with design rationale and styling input.
* Source and recommend new fabrications, washes, and finishes.
* Maintain awareness of competitor activity and global trends to ensure the brand stays innovative and relevant.
* Travel for research and development trips, both within the UK and internationally, as required.
* Work cross-functionally to ensure timely delivery of collections that meet brand, customer, and market requirements.
About You
Experience and Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar senior menswear design role, preferably within a lifestyle or trend-led fashion brand.
* Strong portfolio demonstrating skills in menswear graphics, prints, trims, and garment construction.
* Solid understanding of fabric sourcing, fit, and finish, with the ability to develop products across multiple categories.
* Excellent proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop essential).
* A degree in Fashion Design or a relevant discipline (BA Hons or equivalent).
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing creativity with commerciality.
Working Environment
* Hybrid Working: Office-based Tuesday to Thursday; work from home on Monday and Friday.
* Flexitime: 40 hours per week, with flexible start between 7:30 am and 10:00 am, and finish between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm.
* Occasional full-time office presence may be required during peak periods, key meetings, or handover.
