The Role
We're looking for an experienced Practice Accountant to step into a Client Portfolio Manager role. You'll take ownership of your own portfolio, acting as the main contact for clients, delivering a mix of accounts preparation, corporation tax, VAT, self-assessment returns, and management accounts.
This is an ideal role for either:
* An existing Client Manager in practice looking for a fresh challenge, or
* A strong Senior Accountant ready to step up into portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns.
* Advise on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
* Build strong relationships as the trusted client manager.
* Review and support junior staff with their work.
* Work confidently with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent) and CCH.
About You
* 5+ years' accountancy practice experience.
* ACA/ACCA qualified or QBE with solid technical background.
* Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, tax compliance, and VAT.
* Great communication skills — comfortable explaining accounts to non-accountants.
* Organised, proactive, and a natural relationship builder.
