Technical Sales Manager
Polypipe Building Services is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to lead sales of our engineered ground drainage and water supply systems across the commercial market.
Polypipe Building Services specialises in engineered above ground drainage and water supply systems, leveraging off‑site fabrication to deliver solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors and local authorities. The company houses the well‑known Terrain brand and has delivered systems to commercial, high‑rise residential, healthcare, educational and leisure projects for over 50 years.
Role Overview
This role is project‑focused and will sell the entire range of products offered by Polypipe Building Services into the commercial market. Responsibilities include delivering conversion rates across select projects, managing contractor agreements, and providing first‑line technical dialogue with customers.
Product Ranges
Above ground drainage, water supply systems, advantage fabrication systems, and all associated building services products and services.
Area
Postcodes: NN, MK, SG, LU, HP, WD, HA, N, NW, W. Successful candidates must be local to the patch.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver expected conversion rates on a select number of projects using a cradle‑to‑grave approach in collaboration with the wider sales team.
* Liaise with all key stakeholders on new projects, documenting progress and activities on all personally assigned opportunities.
* Plan diary effectively and forwardly.
* Manage contractor terms and agreements, reviewing levels and spend to justify terms.
* Provide first‑line technical dialogue and information to selected customers.
* Liaise with clients and address objections.
* Respond promptly to all incoming enquiries and provide excellent customer service.
* Complete weekly reporting on the CRM system.
* Identify incremental growth opportunities.
* Represent and support the business at social and brand awareness events.
* Assist with site operations and technical training.
* Own the delivery and supply of projects, supporting operational departments.
Skills & Requirements
* Excellent knowledge of the M&E marketplace.
* Proven track record on large‑scale commercial projects and ability to handle technical dialogue at all levels, including presenting to groups.
* Capability to become a technical specialist in PBS products and services quickly.
* Understanding of project stages and decision‑making in commercial construction.
* Driving licence – essential for travel.
