About the Role
We are recruiting for a compassionate and approachable Family Worker to join our team in Wigan & Leigh, providing information and advice to families regarding substance misuse and its impact. If you want to make a tangible difference, we want to hear from you.
As a Family Worker, you will offer interventions to support parents with substance misuse issues, raise awareness, and improve access to services, using Motivational Interviewing. You will provide support through 1:1 or group sessions, develop strong relationships with clients, manage caseloads, and ensure continuity of care.
This is a 12-month FTC to cover an internal secondment.
Requirements include:
* OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within 12 months
* Experience working with families and young people around substance use
* Experience in group work or presentations
* Experience completing assessments, risk assessments, or care plans
* Continuous professional development
* Excellent relationship-building skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Good organizational skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Accurate record-keeping skills
* Effective IT skills
Experience in health and social care, substance misuse, or family settings is preferred. We seek motivated candidates with strong communication skills.
