Description We are seeking experienced and motivated Health Visitors to join our dedicated Public Health Nursing Service, supporting children and families across Cornwall. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver the Healthy Child Programme, providing early intervention, safeguarding support and health promotion. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of families while working within a supportive and collaborative team. You will be employed by Cornwall Council on Agenda for Change terms and conditions which will acknowledge your NHS continuous service and allow you to continue an NHS pension. This is a county wide position. Key responsibilities include: Leading and delivering on the Healthy Child Programme, to families with children aged 0-5. Assess family needs and provide early intervention and targeted support. Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, working closely with partner agencies. Promote child development, maternal mental health, infant feeding and healthy lifestyles Work collaboratively with Integrated Neighbourhood teams and wider children's services. Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement and quality outcomes. The role is subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check. Cornwall Council is committed to safeguarding and is an equal opportunities employer What you’ll need to succeed: You will need to be a Community Specialist Practitioner in Public Health (BSc Hons) or equivalent in Health Visiting, with active professional registration with the NMC. Candidates should have substantial experience as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN), supported by ongoing professional development. Comprehensive and current knowledge of commissioned services, safeguarding practices, and family-centred public health approaches is essential, as is experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams. Advanced IT proficiency, including expertise in clinical record keeping systems, is also expected. The ability to lead and contribute effectively to service and organisational change initiatives, combined with a strong capacity to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines, is crucial.
