We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Operative to join our team and help us create clean, welcoming homes for our tenants. Your tasks will include (list not exhaustive): Perform routine cleaning/small clearing and garden maintenance of void properties and occasionally communal areas. Clean and prepare void properties to ensure they are ready for new tenants. Dust, mop, sweep, and vacuum surfaces to maintain a tidy and welcoming environment in. Work to Bernicia's void standard at all times. Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and railings. Monitor cleaning supplies and report any shortages or maintenance needs. Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and hazard-free environment. Garden Maintenance where needed About you: Were looking for a dedicated and proactive individual who thrives on delivering exceptional results. Youll have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential, as is a team-oriented attitude and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Ideally, youll bring relevant experience within a similar role, paired with a genuine passion for supporting communities through the work that you do. Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety protocols. Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Working knowledge of Garden Maintenance Equipment (Strimmer/Lawnmower) Strong time-management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. A reliable and professional approach to work, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to different tasks and schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends, if required.
