Full Job Description Summary Accountable for producing graphics for confidential assessment materials (standard and modified large print) to the appropriate quality, on time and in accordance with the production process and style guides. Reporting to the Typesetter Team Leader within the Assessment Delivery team, the Digital Artworker works closely with Assessment (Support) Managers and Assessment Coordinators on the creation of the assessment material. They build exceptional relationships with the Typesetters, Delivery Support Managers and Assessment Coordinators in consistently delivering a best-in-class service that meets our customers’ needs.Landscape: Each year over 2,000 question papers, assessment artefacts, mark schemes and modified large print papers, accounting for over 10 million question items and associated materials for over 6,000 schools and colleges annually, are created, quality assured and sent to press for domestic and international qualifications by teams across Assessment. These materials are sat by thousands of students across three examination series and are a pivotal part of their next step in education. The Assessment Delivery team sits within Assessment and is accountable for various activities that support the delivery of all assessment materials, including the creation and printing by external suppliers. They ensure they are produced on time, in accordance with agreed processes and style guides and are of the highest quality. They also support other functions across the creation process including planning, quality assurance, reporting and managing the technology used. The team of approximately 60 AQA staff work closely with other teams across Assessment and COO as well as the wider business. Activities: Produce graphics for including in confidential assessment materials to the appropriate quality, on time and in accordance with the process. Complete quality checks on graphics produced. Contribute to the team’s successful performance by sharing best practice and ideas for ensuring processes and ways of working are as effective and efficient as possible. Work with the Typesetter Team Leader to ensure the work produced is of the highest quality and accuracy to meet customer expectations and drive best practice and quality improvements. Maintain a clear overview of risks and escalate appropriately where new risks are identified or existing risks change, advising timescales and updating on progress and any potential delays. Work closely with Assessment (Support) Managers and Coordinators, determining creative requirements, advising on style, format and production. To be successful in this role, you will need to: Have a broad understanding of the educational and business context within which AQA works. Be educated to degree level or extensive experience in a similar role. Have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Adobe range of software including Photoshop and Illustrator and be able to use technology and techniques to enhance quality. Possess strong creative and layout skills with good attention to detail, agility, flexibility and accuracy. Be able to solve problems, resolve conflicting priorities and adapt to change. Have experience of delivering to a tight brief within strict deadlines.
