This role involves travel to Plymouth and offers a full-time, permanent engagement for an individual experienced in hydro-mechanical systems, particularly penstock and valve integration. The successful candidate will blend design, calculation, specification writing, and on-site engineering support. Key Responsibilities: Design and integration of penstocks, valves, gates, and associated hydro-mechanical equipment Carry out structural and hydraulic calculations, including thrust block and leakage analysis Prepare and review general arrangement drawings, fabrication details, and installation drawings Produce technical specifications, scope documents, and project reports Support procurement by reviewing supplier designs and documentation Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project requirements Create accurate 2D/3D models and drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Manage drawing revisions and contribute to design reviews Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure buildability and quality Provide engineering support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning Site work, conducting inspections, surveys, and problem-solving Job Requirements: Essential skills and experience: Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline Ideally have experience with hydro-mechanical systems (penstocks, valves, or similar...
