Teaching Assistant – Hedge End

An inclusive and welcoming primary school in the Hedge End area is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting children during their formative primary years and is keen to play an active role in their learning, confidence, and wellbeing.
About You:
* Experience supporting children in a primary school environment is desirable, particularly within KS1 or KS2.
* You bring a calm, caring, and patient approach to both learning and behaviour.
* You are confident communicating with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
* You are comfortable supporting children with a range of abilities and learning needs.
* You are dependable, proactive, and genuinely enthusiastic about supporting young learners.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential.
Your Role Will Include:
* Working alongside the class teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning.
* Providing classroom assistance, including one-to-one and small group support.
* Supporting phonics, literacy, and numeracy activities.
* Helping to foster a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
* Encouraging good behaviour, independence, and self-confidence.
* Supporting pupils’ academic progress as well as their social and emotional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
