Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator on a contract basis, to be located in Cumbria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, coordination, and control of all temporary works and scaffolding activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, and company standards. This role is critical to ensuring that all temporary works are designed, constructed, maintained, and dismantled safely and efficiently within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the appointed Temporary Works Coordinator for site-based activities, including scaffolding operations.

Maintain and manage the temporary works register, ensuring all designs are approved and controlled.
*
Coordinate between Temporary Works Designers, Site Management, and operational teams to ensure safe implementation of designs.

Review and approve Temporary Works Design Briefs, ensuring they meet project and safety requirements.
*
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with temporary works procedures.
*
Support the development and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
*
Lead Temporary Works meetings and provide technical guidance to construction and maintenance teams.
*
Promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in temporary works management.
Qualifications & Experience
*
HNC/HND or Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
*
Strong working knowledge of BS 5975 and relevant scaffolding codes of practice (TG20, SG4).
*
Demonstrable experience managing temporary works or scaffolding operations in a high-hazard or regulated environment (e.g., nuclear, energy, infrastructure).
*
Excellent communication, organisational, and coordination skills.
*
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
