About the role: You'll either be out and about in York, transporting furniture and collecting donations, or you'll be in the store helping move and build items of furniture in the warehouse - all while providing excellent customer service to our local community. Your positive attitude and driving experience will be key to supporting our mission to make a real difference in our community. This is a full time role. The role involves: Safe and careful driving of a 3.5t van in and around the York area Loading and unloading of customer deliveries and collection of donated items including heavy furniture items (manual handling training provided) Supporting the Operations Manager with stock management and movement within the warehouse and shop areas Providing excellent customer service when liaising with customers before and during deliveries and collections Cleaning of donated items using steam and other cleaners Flexibility to help in other areas of the store as required Commitment to supporting people in our local community In return we can offer you: Sociable working hours between 8.00am-4.00pm in a friendly and supportive team Starting 28 days paid holiday inclusive of bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time roles) increasing with length of employment All uniform and PPE provided free of charge No bank holiday or Sunday working Hourly Pay £12.41 per hour Feel good factor of working for an important local charity really making a difference to communities in York.
