Job overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Clinical Lead Nurse to support, Lustrum Vale Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit. Lustrum Vale is a 20 bedded unit which offers specialist recovery based interventions to support the transition of patients into the community or prevent patients from being admitted to a Mental Health Acute Hospital setting.

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.


Main duties of the job

If successful, y ou will join a skilled multi-disciplianry team and will work closely with the clinical leadership team to ensure that excellent services are delivered to our patients and staff are developed to reach their potential. You will also be required to lead by example and demonstrate compassionate care and excellent leadership skills. You will provide supervision to staff and work closely with patients, their families and carers to ensure interventions delivered by the team are individualized, patient centred and recovery focused.

We are seeking a confident individual who is keen to contribute to the delivery of high quality nursing care and service development. You should have a strong interest and substantial experience of working with complex patients who may present with behaviours that challenge. You should have a high level of resilience and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate a warm, patient centred approach to care.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and engage in multi-disciplinary team working.

Experience

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

* Provide leadership and monitor, coordinate and prioritise the activities of a team
* Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake key worker responsibilities
* Provide effective clinical supervision, teaching, training and assessing in clinical practice
* Write reports
* Use multimedia materials for presentations in professional settings
* Use approved techniques in physical interventions
* Demonstrate recovery focussed practice
* Experience of working within a range of services, including inpatient and community settings
* Experience of undertaking or participating in research

Qualifications

* Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months

Trust Welcome Day

Here at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation NHS Trust we want you to have a positive experience when you start your new role with us. To ensure you have great welcome, for all new starters joining the Trust, we offer two start dates per month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of that month.

On your start date, you will be invited to our in person Trust Welcome Day at our Flatts Lane Centre, Middlesbrough. Your first day will be engaging and informative, it will allow you to meet and network with a range of Trust staff, learn more about us and what we offer. For certain clinical roles, your Welcome Day could then be followed by up to 9 days face to face training.
