Overview
Design Manager to manage a multi-disciplinary team and lead the delivery of our waste water programme of works within a large UK water consultancy framework. You would build on the good work done in establishing our framework and work with our technical discipline leads to ensure projects within the clean water programme are delivered on time, within budget, and with technical excellence. This is a customer facing role requiring close working relationships with the client leadership team as part of a collaborative approach. The role offers opportunities to develop skills and mentor the next generation of talent, with potential to adopt latest digital technologies.

Responsibilities
* Manage a multi-disciplinary team and lead the delivery of the waste water programme within the UK water consultancy framework.
* Collaborate with technical discipline leads to ensure projects within the clean water programme are delivered on time and to budget, driving technical excellence.
* Engage with client leaders in a collaborative, customer-facing capacity.
* Progress and evolve the role in line with framework requirements and personal development areas.
* Mentor and develop junior staff and future talent within the business.
* Support bids, fee proposals or offers of service as required.
Candidate specification
Essential
* Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution
* Understanding of conventional and innovative water and/or wastewater treatment technologies
* Track record of engineering technical leadership
* Significant experience in development and delivery of feasibility and outline design solutions within the UK water sector
* Ability to support bids, fee proposals or offers of service
* Ability to check and review technical deliverables, calculations and reports
* Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across internal multi-disciplinary teams and client teams
* Desire to take a leading role with client engagement
* Willingness and ability to travel to client offices and sites as required
Desirable
* Experience in building teams and developing junior staff
* Understanding of key wastewater treatment and sustainability needs in the water sector
* Understanding of drivers for wastewater treatment investment in England and Wales
* Excellent technical report writing skills in concise English
