As a Plant Hire Controller, you will support the daily requests coming into the Plant department. The Plant department is responsible for all hire requests for the business to ensure safe & efficient delivery of our works at the most competitive rates with minimum downtime to the operation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the day-to-day operation of the Plant department as part of the team.
2. Take requests from internal customers and place relevant orders with suppliers.
3. Liaise with suppliers to ensure plant is delivered to site on time as requested.
4. Assist with breakdowns to minimise downtime and manage contract expectations.
5. Handle internal and external calls to meet all business requirements.
6. Keep our asset management system up to date.
7. Ensure all contract costs are accurately allocated to the correct project codes and weeks.
8. Coordinate with other departments to ensure data integrity, identify discrepancies, and prevent re-occurrences.
Experience and Qualifications
1. Previous experience in Plant hire / Hire Desk is essential.
2. Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
3. Ability to prioritise workload, multi-task, and work under tight deadlines.
4. High attention to detail.
