Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class One Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting goods across various routes. This role requires expertise in General Haulage work and a thorough understanding of commercial driving regulations. As a Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of our products.
Responsibilities
* Moving Containers from Southampton docks
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
* Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper securing techniques are used to prevent damage during transport.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Class 1 (CE) driver
* Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for flatbed operation.
* Familiarity with local routes and navigation systems is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to commercial driving.
