Overview

Pharmacy Technician - Primary and Community Care

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, forward thinking, pharmacy technician with excellent interpersonal skills looking to develop their career across primary care and community hospitals. You will be based in the central area Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, supported by our established and highly valued team of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.


Main duties

A patient centred evidence-based medicines approach to medicines management is required in the role. You will be working collaboratively with health and social care teams across the locality to improve patient outcomes related to medicines use and ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

* Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (QCF) or equivalent


Experience

* Essential: Working within a multidisciplinary team
* Desirable: Experience of working in a primary care pharmacy team
* Desirable: Previous medicines management experience


Skills

* Essential: Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and other Healthcare professionals
* Essential: Good time management and organisational skills
* Essential: Ability to work under pressure and prioritise
* Desirable: Ability to analyse and solve problems


Knowledge

* Essential: Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word and Excel)
* Desirable: Knowledge of GP practice prescribing systems
* Desirable: Knowledge of Clinical Governance requirements in relation to prescribing and primary care


Personal Qualities

* Self motivated and enthusiastic
* Flexibility in approach to meet service needs


Other

* Essential: Ability to travel
* Desirable: Ability to work weekend and public holiday rotas
