Due to continued growth, we have many complex and interesting projects on the horizon. As a Project Engineer (Design Management) in the Major Projects Programme, you will play a key role in ground-breaking projects that will shape the future of London Gatwick. The Role:
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be a key part of the Construction team, responsible for ensuring design meets needs across varied multi-million-pound projects, including working within defined sub-programmes on complex projects. Other duties include:
1. Developing project scope to meet business needs and delivering effective design management on individual projects.
2. Creating the design brief for external design consultants, ensuring proper management of design contracts throughout the process.
3. Seeking sustainable design solutions to meet project requirements, including energy-efficient design, materials selection, waste reduction, and transportation optimisation to reduce carbon emissions.
4. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
5. Seeking cost-effective design solutions and managing external design consultants.
6. Providing technical input on design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Discharging duties of Principal Designer under CDM Regulations 2015, with support from the CDM Advisor.

* A university degree in an engineering discipline or significant relevant experience.
* Knowledge and understanding of technical and regulatory requirements related to your field.
* Desirable: experience in scoping and briefing, implementing British Standards and sustainable design schemes like BREEAM, understanding NEC contracts, and coordinating design teams and multidisciplinary resources.
