The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Group Sustainability & Health and Safety Manager to lead the company’s HSE and sustainability strategies. The role involves overseeing UK manufacturing operations, ensuring legal compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement group-wide health, safety, and sustainability strategies
* Lead cultural change towards proactive safety and sustainability practices
* Standardize health, safety, and sustainability procedures across all sites
* Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation
* Promote employee wellbeing and occupational health
* Manage incident reduction initiatives and KPIs such as TRIR and LTIFR
* Create sustainability plans focusing on carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and waste management
* Monitor environmental regulations and industry trends
* Engage stakeholders to support HSE and sustainability goals
* Provide training and behavioural safety programs
* Track progress through data analysis and audits
Candidate Profile:
* Senior experience in health, safety, and sustainability in manufacturing or industrial settings
* Knowledge of UK HSE laws and sustainability standards
* Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills
* Experience with cultural change and behavioural safety
* NEBOSH Diploma (essential); additional environmental qualifications (desirable)
* Membership of IOSH and/or IEMA or working towards chartered status
* Experience leading multi-site programs with measurable results
