Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced senior Physiotherapist with highly specialist knowledge and skills to join our Pelvic and Maternal Health Physiotherapy Team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves managing Consultant and GP referrals for a wide variety of patient groups requiring acute / specialist management and supporting the development of our services.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for physiotherapy management of patients presenting to the team.
* Expert clinical resource for physiotherapy management of patients within the Trust and regionally, as required.
* Represent the physiotherapy service as a clinical expert in initiatives within and outside the Trust as requested by the Physiotherapy Services Manager or Physiotherapy Service Lead.
* Manage an individual caseload, including prioritisation, assessment and management of patients with acute and chronic conditions; rely on expert clinical judgement and analytical skills to determine diagnosis and treatment; maintain records as a legally autonomous practitioner.
* Provide a leadership role clinically, educationally, professionally and managerially.
* Plan, develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service provided to patients within and beyond the Trust.
* Deputise for the Physiotherapy Operational Lead, Integrated Therapy Lead or Service Lead as required.
* Support the delivery of a high-quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service; act as a role model, consistently demonstrating the Trust’s PRIDE values (People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, Excellence) and promoting an inclusive culture.
* Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work.
* Maintain a high standard of clinical care for patients.
* Provide peer support and case review for other members of the team, especially for patients with complex clinical or psychological presentations.
* Use communication tools and assess patient understanding to gain valid informed consent; work within the legal framework with patients who lack capacity.
* Collect relevant patient information from a variety of sources (e.g., radiology imaging systems, investigations, ward handovers, observation charts, medical and nursing records) to assist clinical prioritisation and management.
* Undertake comprehensive specialist assessment of patients using investigative and analytical skills.
* Formulate an individual management and/or treatment programme using advanced clinical reasoning and a wide range of treatment skills and options relevant to the clinical specialty.
