Gas Services Manager – Southampton City Council
Rate: £24.46 per hour PAYE
Location: Southampton
Contract Length: Minimum 12 months (possible extension)
Start: As soon as possible following vetting & interview
Hours:
1. Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 4:15pm
2. Friday: 7:30am – 3:15pm
About the Role
Berry Recruitment is proud to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Gas Services Manager to join the Mechanical & Electrical Services team at Southampton City Council.
If you are seeking a new professional challenge, this position provides the opportunity to deliver significant projects across the local area while leading and advancing high‑quality gas service operations.
Key Responsibilities
3. Support the delivery of a high‑quality gas service strategy across responsive, planned, capital and commercial workstreams.
4. Ensure all City Council policies, standards and statutory requirements are fully met.
5. Manage multi‑trade teams, acting as the lead for trade‑specific issues and overseeing the voids process.
6. Assist in the effective management of the Gas section, including staff, contractors, suppliers and administrative functions.
7. Contribute to the successful delivery of several Mechanical & Electrical projects across the region.
Requirements
8. Proven leadership experience within gas services or Mechanical & Electrical environments.
9. Ability to start quickly following vetting and interview.
10. Enhanced DBS required for this role. (can be completed after a successful interview).
11. Full driving licence and access to a car (travel is required).
