The Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) which is hosted within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Avon and Somerset is looking to recruit a VRP Manager. This is an exciting role that will lead the management of the Knife Crime Concentration Fund as well as supporting the day-to-day functions of the VRP. Reporting to the Senior Partnership and Engagement Manager, this is a key role within the VRP, working to support delivery against the Avon and Somerset Serious Violence Reduction Strategy, the OPCC Police and Crime Plan and the Home Office funded grant to reduce knife crime. The core responsibilities of this interesting and varied VRP Manager role are: Develop and maintain awareness of local issues and policy impacting knife crime, undertaking research as required to support the PCC in their role and the work of the VRP. Develop effective relationships with relevant parts of Avon and Somerset Police, the VRP and other stakeholders to inform policy and research activity. Support development and oversight of grant and commissioning processes including strategy, allocation, approval and ongoing monitoring as required to meet the aims and objectives of the Police and Crime Plan and the VRP Strategy. Undertake research, analysis and evaluation of appropriate interventions to support the evidence base for what works in reducing knife crime. Prepare reports and briefings relating to the delivery of the Knife Crime Concentration fund as required for the VRP Board and/or Delivery Group. Undertake specific project work as relevant and agreed by the VRP Director or the Senior Partnership and Engagement Manager What we are looking for Ideally you will have experience of some or all aspects of grant management, commissioning processes and project work. You will have the ability to build credible relationships with a variety of different partners and stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-based practice. The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is to be the voice of local people in policing and to hold the Chief Constable to account. The aim of all PCCs is to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient police service within their force area. Functions delivered by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) will still be required under the new model however the specific arrangements of this transfer are in their infancy and yet to be defined. These changes are intended to enable better join up with local services across Avon and Somerset.
