Job Description
* Review clinical referrals and determine the suitability for admission to the unit.
* Conduct thorough psychiatric admission assessments and ensure the development of effective, personalised treatment plans.
* Undertake risk assessments and implement regular reviews for all young people on the unit.
* Allocate and oversee delivery of specialist psychological therapies in alignment with individual needs and diagnoses.
* Monitor and assess physical health, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
* Liaise effectively with external referring agencies and clinical teams to support continuity of care.
* Lead and facilitate regular CPA (Care Programme Approach) review meetings.
* Act as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act, ensuring legal compliance and best practice standards are upheld.
Requirements:
* Registration on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a valid licence to practise.
* Demonstrable experience working within CAMHS, with specific expertise in eating disorders highly desirable.
* Strong clinical leadership and communication skills with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care.
* Proven track record in mental health risk management and familiarity with the legal framework of the Mental Health Act.
