Offer description

We are seeking experienced School Administrators with a strong background in school administration and finance to support schools across Leicester on short- to medium-term contracts. These roles are ideal for professionals who can step in quickly, work independently, and keep school operations running smoothly.

This is not an entry-level role. Previous school-based experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Administration

*

Manage day-to-day school administrative operations.

*

Maintain accurate pupil records and staff documentation.

*

Handle correspondence, emails, and phone enquiries professionally.

*

Support senior leadership with reports, data returns, and compliance documentation.

*

Liaise with parents, staff, external agencies, and local authorities.

*

Ensure GDPR and data protection requirements are followed at all times.

Finance

*

Manage school finance systems, including budgets, invoices, and purchase orders.

*

Process payments, receipts, and account reconciliations.

*

Support budget monitoring and financial reporting.

*

Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and finance providers as required.

*

Ensure financial procedures comply with school and local authority policies.

Person Specification

Essential

*

Minimum 2 years’ experience in school administration.

*

Proven experience handling school finance or education-based financial systems.

*

Ability to adapt quickly to new school environments.

*

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

*

Confident using IT systems (e.g. MIS, finance software, Microsoft Office).

*

Professional, discreet, and capable of handling confidential information.

Desirable

*

Experience with SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or similar school MIS.

*

Knowledge of school funding structures and financial compliance.

*

Experience supporting senior leadership teams.

Safeguarding & Compliance

*

Enhanced DBS (required).

*

Two references required, including most recent employer.

*

Proof of right to work in the UK required.

*

Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in education.

Additional Information

*

Roles available across Leicester.

*

Contracts range from a few weeks to several months.

*

Flexibility and availability at short notice are highly valued
