We’re working with a growing and ambitious civils contractor delivering high-quality highway and infrastructure projects across the Southern region.
They’re looking to bring in a Site Manager who’s earlier in their career but ready to step up into Project Management, take ownership, and grow within a business that genuinely invests in its people.
This is a hybrid role combining office-based coordination with regular site exposure, ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on while developing their project management capability.
The Role
You’ll work closely with senior engineering leadership, supporting the delivery of multiple live highway schemes while building your experience across both site operations and project coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the delivery of highway construction projects with regular progress updates
* Assisting in managing multiple live sites and workstreams
* Carrying out site inspections, investigations, and reporting
* Reviewing tenders, quotations, and bills of quantities
* Supporting valuations, costing, and commercial activities
* Coordinating subcontractors, permits, and site records
* Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with specifications
* Interpreting drawings and working closely with engineering teams
* Liaising with stakeholders including local authorities, residents, and subcontractors
* Contributing to technical studies, reporting, and project documentation
What We’re Looking For
* Experience within construction or civil engineering (highways/infrastructure preferred)
* Some exposure to project or site management responsibilities
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
* Good technical understanding and attention to detail
* Awareness of health & safety on-site
* Ability to coordinate teams and manage site activities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* AutoCAD experience (desirable, not essential)
* Full UK driving licence
