Site Engineer
Salary: Up to £42,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Choice of shift from a 3-shift rotation
Location: Hungerford
An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking a Site Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of its production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for stability, development, and long-term progression within a well-invested site.
The Role
You will support planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across site machinery and facilities, ensuring efficient and safe operation at all times. There is strong potential for career progression for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to mechanical breakdowns and carry out machinery adjustments
*
Diagnose and repair faults efficiently
*
Support planned preventative maintenance schedules and accurate record keeping
*
Assist with spare parts inventory management
*
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop
*
Support maintenance and improvement of the building fabric
*
Provide holiday and sickness cover within the engineering team
*
Deputise for senior engineering staff when required
*
Complete all relevant documentation accurately
*
Work closely with site managers to support company policies and procedures
*
Ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and legal requirements
*
Undertake additional duties as required by the role
Working Pattern

37.5 hours per week

About You
Essential:

Proven mechanical or engineering experience
*
Basic electrical knowledge
*
Sound general education
*
Strong communication skills
*
Customer-focused and team-oriented approach
*
Comfortable using PCs and basic analytical tools
*
Positive, professional, and detail-oriented attitude
Desirable:
*
Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HND, or Degree)
*
Welding and fabrication experience
*
Experience communicating across multiple levels within a business
