Responsibilities
* Provide franchise support – populate and manage template franchise agreements, issue breach notices and terminations, and assist with dispute resolution.
* Handle HR legal matters – update template employment contracts, manage change‑of‑employment processes, and participate in employee relations.
* Draft, review, and amend commercial contracts and other legal documents to minimise risk and maximise rights.
* Support Data Protection compliance – implement procedures and policies, coordinate responses to DSARs, and work closely with counsel for other UK brands.
* Address trademark and passing‑off issues – investigate and draft cease and desist letters, and liaise with web hosts and social media platforms to remove infringing content.
* Identify and manage legal and compliance risks, developing strategies to mitigate them.
* Coordinate with insurance brokers and manage lease matters for off‑site properties including terminations, renewals, rent reviews, and dilapidations.
* Assist in litigation – prepare pre‑action correspondence, handle small claims, and support disclosure in larger litigation together with external counsel.
Qualifications
Mid‑senior level solicitor (minimum 5 PQE; 7+ better). Experience in commercial, franchising, employment, and general in‑house work.
