Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team.
As a member of the Finance team, your role will involve dealing with all aspects of Credit Control. You'll be working as part of a busy team, delivering a high standard of service to the business, reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Risk.
Key responsibilities include:
* Collecting aged debts as quickly and efficiently as possible as outlined in the Credit Control Policy;
* Chasing overdue debts by telephone, letter, and monthly statements to clients whilst liaising with Partners and Fee Earners;
* Dealing with daily correspondence received by Credit Control;
* Attending regular aged debt reviews with legal staff.
* Logging queries generated and dealing with any follow up action as required;
* Updating systems with relevant commentaries to ensure records are kept up to date and actions are followed up;
* Liaising with the Central Accounts team to ensure payments are allocated to the correct client and invoice.
* Follow policies and procedures consistently and diligently, reporting any breach to the Director of Finance & Risk
Key Skills
* Demonstrable experience in Credit Control,
* Excellent attention to detail;
* The ability to create and maintain good internal and client relationships;
* Demonstrable working knowledge of credit control IT systems (desirable);
* Demonstrable experience working with Microsoft Office products (365, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word);
* Experience working in a law firm or professional services regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
* The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a seamless service;
* Clear and confident interaction with clients and internal teams is essential for resolving payment issues and maintaining relationships.
* Accuracy in record-keeping and spotting discrepancies helps prevent costly errors.
* Using negotiation and persuasion to encourage timely payments without damaging client relationships.
* Tackling disputes or identifying reasons behind delayed payments requires a cool head and creative thinking.
* Prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines keeping cash flow steady and operations smooth.
Technical Experience:
* Highly Competent in using Microsoft Office 365
* Previous experience of working within a credit control environment
* Strong Excel and analytical skills
* Experience of chasing for debt on email and over the phone
* Close attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
· CICM qualification is desirable, although breadth of experience is more important.

Pay: £27,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
