Project Technical Manager

DOF Atlantic is seeking a Project Technical Manager (PTM) to join our team and support the delivery of subsea projects. The Project Technical Manager reports to Engineering but is considered a key member of the project management team and so your experience should reflect a strong understanding in project delivery from a commercial and contractual perspective, as well as technically.

The PTM is responsible for creating and directing a functional team of engineers and making sure that the team works together in an organised and efficient manner. The role of the PTM is to be result oriented and be a motivator and mentor for the team while ensuring "industry best practice" is utilised and documented in the development of the technical delivery for projects, tenders, and studies.


Tasks

* Support business acquisition, both for BD and Tendering activities;
* Promote DOF Subsea's engineering capabilities to clients and the market in general;
* Increase communication between engineers and offshore managers/personnel across the region;
* Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned;
* Promote the company's organisational culture, values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies;
* Promote the development of a HSEQ culture and system that minimises the risk of injury to personnel, the environment and equipment to ALARP levels (As Low As Reasonably Practical);
* The PTM may be asked to deputise as Project Manager as and when required

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field (experience can compensate for lack of formal competency)
* Experience in project engineering within the offshore/subsea industry
* Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and deadline‑driven environment
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
* Management of subcontracts and subcontractors
* Experience in site management of fabrication subcontractors and Site Integration and Factory Acceptance Testing of equipment and tooling packages for the oil and gas industry
* Management of QA/QC principles
* Detailed understanding of relevant codes and standards
* Understanding of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment tools and techniques
* Strong understanding of project management tools and techniques
