Location
Stratford District Children & Family Centres, Warwickshire (open throughout the year).
Areas covered: Stratford upon Avon, Alcester, and Lighthorne Heath.
Role Summary
The Practitioner will deliver direct services to families through one-to-one support, groups, activities and courses. Services are provided in person, by phone or virtual platforms, with a focus on children aged 0‑11 and supporting their parents. The role covers the school holidays and may include evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Offer fun and engaging activities to support children to develop positive social and emotional skills.
* Offer engaging groups for young people.
* Plan activities in line with the EYFS.
* Build positive relationships with parents/carers.
* Hold sometimes difficult / challenging conversations with parents.
* Provide advice, support, signpost and refer parents to appropriate services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 2 childcare qualification or higher (or experience that demonstrates competence).
* Knowledge and practical experience of the EYFS.
* Experience of working with and supporting young children and their parents/carers.
* Confidence in communicating effectively with parents/carers, colleagues and other professionals.
* Competence in IT and email, working with Word and other Microsoft packages.
* Experience of delivering Early Years' services in community settings is desirable.
* Qualified to deliver Baby Massage and Chatter Matter's courses is desirable.
* Own transport to work across Stratford District for outreach work.
Work Hours & Flexibility
This role is As and When covering school holidays. The postholder may be asked to work evenings and weekends.
Employment Conditions
Pay is based on Barnardo's pay framework. Salary range is advertised and appointments start at the minimum to mid‑point of the pay band.
