Role Overview
We are now seeking a Procurement / Contract Specialist (Manager Level) to join our Procurement & Commercial Management Practice, with an immediate deployment into a leading Asset Management client.
This is a hands-on commercial role where you will lead procurement, contracting, and supplier management activities across a portfolio of critical business services including asset servicing, fund valuation, transfer agency, fund administration, market data, and research.
The successful candidate will be highly analytical, confident with complex contracts and data management, and experienced in delivering value through contract renewals, supplier negotiations, cost base management, and supplier governance. You will act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring commercial excellence and regulatory alignment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead sourcing and contract management across business services categories.
* Own contract renewals, ensuring timely negotiation, risk management, and business continuity.
* Confidently interpret and operationalise complex supplier contracts.
* Negotiate robust contracts that align with strategic, regulatory, and risk priorities.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships that deliver measurable value.
* Monitor supplier performance against SLAs and KPIs, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
* Support governance processes and ensure compliance with contractual commitments.
* Own the supplier cost base across assigned categories.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies while safeguarding service quality.
* Provide actionable insights through advanced data analysis, supporting decision-making.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, aligning procurement activity with strategic goals.
* Influence stakeholders to adopt best practice in procurement and supplier management.
* Collaborate across business units to ensure supplier strategies deliver long-term value.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in procurement, contract management, and supplier governance within asset management, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
* Advanced Excel expertise – pivot tables, data modelling, cost analysis – with strong capability to manage large datasets.
* Strong ability to interpret, negotiate, and manage complex supplier contracts (commercial, legal, and operational terms).
* Demonstrated success in negotiations, delivering cost savings and improved supplier outcomes.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with credibility at senior level.
* Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset, with a focus on value delivery and risk management.
* CIPS qualification (or working towards) desirable.
