Are you the magic in a child’s first chapter?

Early Years Practitioner Swindon Academy – Primary Phase (Level 2/3 preferred – but a great attitude matters most)

Contract type: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

School: Swindon Academy, Beech Avenue

Start date: ASAP

Working hours: 33.75 hours a week Monday-Friday, term time only

Salary: £19,353 per annum pro rata to the FTE of £24,921 per annum

Swindon Academy are looking for an ambitious and hard-working individual to join a busy team. The purpose of the role is to work under the guidance of the Room Lead to support teaching and learning in the classroom. You will also provide general support to the Room Lead in the management and organisation of the pupils and the classroom and assist the Room Lead in creating and maintaining a safe, purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.

We’re looking for a warm, committed and creative EYFS Support Staff member to join our nursery and reception team – a place where tiny voices grow louder with confidence every day, and no two days are ever the same.

What your day might look like...

1. Building castles out of cardboard and confidence
2. Celebrating tiny triumphs (like first words or zipped-up coats)
3. Supporting individual children – especially those who need an extra hand – to feel seen, supported and safe
4. Helping the Room Lead with learning activities, creative setups, snack time and adventures into phonics and number play
5. Creating a classroom that’s bursting with joy, routine and belonging
6. Having meaningful conversations with children and their families

You’ll fit right in if you...

7. Believe that every child deserves to be known, loved and encouraged
8. Are patient, proactive and naturally nurturing
9. Can support children’s learning as well as their toilet training, social skills and snack negotiations!
10. Want to be part of a team that laughs together, learns together and always puts the children first
11. Are qualified at Level 2 or 3 in Early Years (desirable but not essential)

In return, we offer...

12. A vibrant, inclusive environment that champions curiosity and creativity
13. A leadership team who support and develop you
14. The backing of United Learning and all its professional development opportunities
15. A warm welcome into a school community that truly feels like family
16. Whether you’re at the start of your Early Years journey or looking for a new setting to shine, this is your chance to make a real difference – one small smile at a time.

Come and visit us – we’d love to meet you.

Please note we reserve the right to close the vacancy early in light of a large response.

Due to the high volume of applications received, the School is unable to provide individual feedback on why an application is unsuccessful. If you have not been contacted within 2 weeks of closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
