The role
This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover position. The role is offered as full time or part time (minimum of 0.81 fte).
Based at our Headington campus and reporting to the Head of Global Recruitment, the Regional Manager will lead the development and delivery of international student recruitment strategies across a designated region.
This role provides the opportunity to step into an international recruitment leadership position, continuing the delivery of strategy and supporting the team during a period of parental leave.
You will oversee regional recruitment activity, manage a small team, develop specialist market expertise and represent the University overseas. You will also take ownership of at least one major strategic project that contributes to the University’s global recruitment objectives.
About the team
You will join Oxford Brookes Global, part of the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement. The team is responsible for growing and diversifying the University’s international student population, enhancing global engagement and strengthening our international footprint.
The Regional Manager will lead a team which might include Global Recruitment Officers, Global Recruitment Associates (2–3 posts) and/or overseas staff, working closely with colleagues across the University, including Marketing, Admissions, Faculties and overseas in-country offices. The team collaborates widely to deliver high-quality recruitment activity, nurture international partnerships, leverage insight and intelligence, and deliver sector-leading customer experience.
What will I be doing?
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a regional team of recruitment staff (both UK and overseas-based).
* International Representation: Represent the University independently in overseas missions, exhibitions, and events.
* Market Expertise: Build specialist knowledge in designated regions, becoming a key expert on regional business opportunities.
* Strategic Planning: Create and implement country-specific marketing plans while managing and monitoring multiple recruitment channels.
* Operational Leadership: Deliver specific recruitment projects and liaise with teams across the University to drive collaboration and change.
* Financial Oversight: Manage the regional recruitment budget and evaluate return on investment for activities within the designated region.
What skills do I need?
* A proven track record in delivering recruitment, sales, or marketing campaigns.
* Expertise in using market intelligence to develop and execute successful international strategies.
* Experience in managing international recruitment channels and leading innovative solutions to meet competitive targets.
* The ability to represent the University to internal and external stakeholders both in the UK and overseas.
* Experience in business travel overseas and excellent account management skills.

This role is hybrid, with days on campus varying depending on business needs and overseas travel requirements.
