Our client, a rapidly expanding player in advanced battery manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Head of Manufacturing Engineering to lead the development, improvement, and delivery of world-class processes and facilities. This is a pivotal role shaping the ramp-up of lithium-ion battery production and driving best-in-class engineering performance across the organisation. The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will: Lead the Manufacturing Engineering function, ensuring processes, facilities, and equipment meet quality, cost, delivery, and safety requirements. Drive engineering strategy and continuous improvement initiatives to support large-scale lithium-ion battery manufacturing. Oversee commissioning, optimisation, and ongoing improvement of production equipment, working closely with machine vendors and internal teams. Collaborate with product engineering, quality, operations, and commercial teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment with customer expectations. Manage engineering projects from concept to delivery, ensuring capability, efficiency, and on-time completion. Provide strong leadership to a multidisciplinary team, building capability, structure, and performance across the department. The Head of Manufacturing Engineering will have: Proven experience leading a manufacturing or engineering function, ideally within batteries, automotive, or complex advanced manufacturing. Strong strategic and operational leadership, with a track record of delivering engineering roadmaps, processes, and high-value projects. Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment specification, commissioning, and continuous improvement. Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence across engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers. Strong commercial and budget management capabilities, including capex planning and delivering projects to cost and timeline. Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (Master's preferred) with professional membership or chartership strongly advantageous.
