Water Resources Manager – 32733
Join the Environment Agency to lead a national water resources service that ensures we have enough water for people, business and the environment. You will head a department of over 70 technical experts delivering a national water resources service.
Responsibilities
* Shape and scrutinise Water Companies’ statutory Water Resource Management Plans.
* Provide expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources.
* Manage programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction.
* Plan and manage drought considerations and actions.
* Develop talent and skills in water planning.
* Lead national modelling for water resources and groundwater.
* Champion health, safety and wellbeing of staff.
* Foster inclusion and support the growth and development of people.
* Lead operational delivery of services, ensuring resources are used effectively, priorities are met and performance is efficient.
* Represent the Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team in the wider organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Authentic leadership with a strong team focus and belief in protecting people and the environment.
* Passion for developing individuals and teams to their best, creating an open, inclusive, trusting culture.
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with a strong customer focus.
* Strategic thinking, spotting links and connections to identify opportunities, and simplifying to focus on delivering what matters.
* Working knowledge of water resources management and understanding of environmental, political and economic pressures affecting water companies, food producers, energy providers, technology and science sectors, and the wider water environment.
* Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing large programmes.
