Berry Recruitment is currently seeking a highly motivated and professional Conveyancing Assistant to join a well-established organisation based in Abingdon.
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in law or property who are looking to apply their skills within a forward-thinking law firm.
Role: Conveyancing Assistant
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 Per Annum
Location: Abingdon
Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Full time / Permanent 35 hours
Key Responsibilities of the Conveyancing Assistant:
1. Supporting the existing completions team to deliver a high standard of completions work including but not limited to:
2. Handling all aspects of the deal after exchange up to completion
3. Land Registry matters
4. Liaising with mortgage companies
5. Management company liaison
6. Knowledge of SDLT submission process
7. Carrying out registrations for the busy team which include complex applications e.g., first registrations, lease extensions, removal of notices alongside straightforward transfers
8. General administration including but not limited to drafting completion statements, producing letters and documents which utilise case management and IT systems
9. Dealing with client enquiries
10. Receiving instructions, ordering searches, requesting redemption figures
11. Proactive diary management including making appointments, prioritising and arranging meetings
12. Processing daily emails, post and voice messages on behalf of the fee earner
13. Filing, photocopying, cheque requests, faxing, dead filing, DX & post preparation
14. Meeting with clients face to face, to help administer and progress matters as instructed by the supervising solicitor
15. Providing clients with updates in relation to the day-to-day relevant matters via phone, email and face to face
16. Ensure high quality communication with the company’s internal teams and individuals
17. Reporting faulty equipment / software to appropriate parties
18. Attending relevant team meetings
19. Participating in other activities and projects; flexibility as required
20. Carrying out any other reasonable task that may be requested by the supervising solicitor
