Chelmsford City Racecourse, the UK's newest racecourse, is looking for a new Marketing Executive to help build the most innovative brand in British racing.
You will be working closely with the Head of Marketing & Creative and will be a core member of the marketing team. The post-holder will be responsible for various day-to-day marketing operations, including serving as the primary contact for marketing-related raceday tasks, such as producing the race card and race day crib sheet. You will support all departments in achieving their goals, working across the Private Events, Ticketed Events, and Racecourse/Hospitality teams. The role will encompass a range of traditional marketing elements, including content marketing, brand marketing, advertising, public relations, and print marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the strategy to grow audience across all owned channels, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
* Create and manage content plans that promote the racecourse brand and events.
* Plan and deliver paid media campaigns to drive event/product awareness, as well as bookings.
* Use social as a form of brand listening and research, reporting findings back to the marketing team.
* Support the Head of Marketing to create and deliver campaigns in line with the marketing strategy. Ensuring that campaigns are delivered on time and to budget.
* Be the main point of contact for raceday marketing, including arranging race cards and race day crib sheets.
* Help develop the racecourse brand and serve as its brand guardian.
* Collaborate with the wider marketing team to expand racecourse audiences, increase raceday attendance, and boost racecourse memberships, hospitality bookings, private & corporate events, and enhance ticket sales for racecourse-operated ticketed events.
* Write and distribute press releases and blogs, and develop relationships with editors and publishing partners to share racecourse campaigns and news.
* Write briefs for videographers and photographers, overseeing any work taking place at the racecourse, and ensuring that the briefs are met. Collaborate with agencies to create industry-leading video content and distribute it across various channels.
* Collaborate with third-party companies, listing services, and tourist boards to ensure the racecourse is promoted regionally and nationally.
* Arrange print, digital and other adverts across all media, including magazines, newspapers, flyers, mail-outs, billboards, radio, etc.
* Support the delivery of effective email campaigns through content
* Maintain asset libraries and marketing collateral.
Person Requirements
We're looking for a content creator at heart, someone who lives and breathes storytelling, creativity, and community.
* Experience in a marketing role, preferably with experience working in racing, sport or events.
* Experience managing multiple stakeholders, agencies, and partners.
* Strong project management capabilities, balancing deadlines and priorities across multiple projects.
* Experience reporting on campaign outcomes, drawing out insights and learnings to inform future work.
* Familiarity with multi-channel marketing and platforms, including digital, email, social media, OOH, and content marketing.
* A creative mindset, with the confidence to inject fresh ideas into the team and work streams.
* Ability to manage multiple projects at once, whilst maintaining high standards and reaching deadlines.
* Excellent written English and proofreading skills, with a strong eye for detail.
* Ability to champion brand guidelines and be a point of contact across their areas of work.
* Able to work outside regular office hours, including some weekends and public holidays.
* Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
