Senior Health Care Support Worker
Outpatients Department, CCC Wirral
37.5 Hrs Monday - Friday 08.30-17.00 including Bank Holidays

The role involves working collaboratively with registered nurses, clinicians and members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Outpatient Department. Outpatients currently support a wide variety of clinical teams and activities within the department including ECG, phlebotomy, PICC & Port access and care. This offers our staff a varied working day and daily learning opportunities. Excellent communication skills are essential and phlebotomy experience is desired.

Main duties
* The senior health care support worker role involves undertaking clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistance and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, PICC and Port access and care; observations, urinalysis, BM recording, ECG recording; preparing for clinics and maintaining high standards of documentation and record keeping.
* Excellent communication skills and experience of working as a Band 3 health care support worker is essential.
* This role will be mostly based within the clinics in The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Wirral; there may be a requirement to work flexibly supporting our other Outpatient Clinics across our other sites (Liverpool, Aintree and Paddington) if necessary.
