Job Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. Responsibilities
* Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health status.
* Support individuals with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
* Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
* Prepare nutritious meals while considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with care plans.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
* Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
* Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
* First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
* Experience working in group homes or assisted living settings is beneficial.
* Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in behavior or health status.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient mobility assistance.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and working with individuals with autism or other disabilities.
* Familiarity with home health practices, hospice care, long-term care experience, and caregiving techniques.
* Proficient in meal preparation and cooking for diverse dietary needs.
* Understanding of care plans and medication administration protocols.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
