Position Overview:
The Senior Product Director, Chemistry, will beleading the Reaxys product team. S/he will be responsible for the creation and delivery of the product’s strategic vision, growth strategy, product roadmaps and innovation, as well as driving user satisfaction, product maintenance, and quality control. The senior product director will also be responsible for the product’s commercial strategy, including pricing, packaging and evolving the business model.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in Product Management, particularly inin innovating decision support solutions in Pharmaceutical R&D and Industrial Chemistry. While this position is focused on Chemistry, a broad knowledge of the Pharma R&D and Commercial Chemistry processes and use cases, from synthetic and medicinal chemistry to material science and chemical engineering, is desired.
We are looking for a leader who is up to speed on new technologies, such as generative AI and RAG, and who would be able to rapidly evolve our solutions to incorporate those.This role is pivotal in translating market trends and customer needs into differentiated products, with a strong focus on monetization strategies, pricing, packaging, and go-to-market execution.
Responsibilities
Vision and Strategy:
Build compelling vision for our chemistry solution set, leveraging latest AI technologies to offer optimal support to customers across segments.
Develop and communicate the strategic direction and positioning for the Chemistry portfolio,matching our portfolio capability to themost attractive areas ofmarket opportunity and ensuring our offering is strongly differentiated versus the competition.
Identify monetizable extensions of existing use cases for incremental growth.
Product Roadmap Ownership:
Develop compelling product level roadmaps that align with the broader strategic direction and will drive growth for the portfolio.
Work closely with relevant teams (e.g. Technology, Operations) to deliver on the roadmap.
Drive prioritisation across the portfolio.
Oversee all aspects of ongoing maintenance of the platform, including quality control and the continuing addition of strategic content assets and functions.
Customer Discovery and Innovation:
Engage directly with customers across the segments to understand their needs, pain points and future requirements.
Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for new offerings or enhancements to existing offerings.
Utilize your deep understanding of emerging technologies and paradigm shifts in the industry (and among our competitors) and how they affect the opportunity landscape
Participate in evaluation of: buy, build or partner options to expand the use case we support.
Build and monetise new chemistry AI tools.
Lead the development of packaging and pricing strategy for Chemistry Portfolio
Develop and drive go-to-market strategy in collaboration withmarketing & sales teams
Requirements
Advanced Degree in Chemistry or related discipline (Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry), MBA Desired
10+ years of experience in tech productmanagement, ideally in digital solutions
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
Excellent communications and stakeholdermanagement skills, capable of engaging with technical teams, executives, and customers.
Commercial acumen, ability to devisemonetization strategies
Proven experience in a senior leadership role
Collaborative mindset, comfortable working across matrix organization
A proactive, strategic thinker with a passion for innovation
Deep understanding of the life sciences sector.
