Overview

Site Manager (Geo-Environmental) role at WSP. The post is within the Ground & Water team, part of WSP's Earth & Environment business. The role is largely site-based with travel across the UK and involves supporting large scale ground investigations.


Responsibilities

* Management of site investigations
* Management of field work including soil logging and environmental sampling, chemical and geotechnical testing, groundwater sampling and ground gas monitoring
* Ensure all work is delivered in line with procedures and to high safety, health and environmental standards


Experience and Qualifications

* Knowledge of planning requirements and management of site investigations
* Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and their application to safe design and implementation of site investigations
* Data handling; GIS experience desirable
* Full UK driving licence (essential)
* On-site work capability
* Ability to use initiative, be self-motivated, and communicate effectively (written and verbal)
* Attention to detail; ability to remain calm under pressure; quick learner; adaptable to change
* Ability to deliver on commitments on time and to required quality; good time management; strong work ethic
* Ability to build rapport and sustainable relationships with peers


We’re looking for

* Site safety qualifications (e.g., first aid and SSSTS or equivalent) desirable
* Relevant technical degree desirable (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science)
* Willingness to travel to sites across the UK


About the Role and Team

The post is within the Ground & Water team; over 180 professionals provide land contamination management services to private and public sector clients. The role supports a strong pipeline of work into 2026 and involves working on site with project managers and directors.
