Job Summary
Whether you are starting out in your career, or you already have an administrative background and are looking for a change, our Administrative Officer role is an opportunity to join the Civil Service and deliver outputs for the benefit of the Army and Defence.
Locations include Pirbright, Sandhurst, Aldershot.
In this role, you will work directly with military colleagues to enable key outputs and can take advantage of training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and career pathway in the Civil Service.
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants, including around 12,000 MOD Civil Servants supporting the Army at over 300 locations. The workforce is diverse, with roles spanning trainers, HR, teachers, psychologists, storekeepers, financiers, project managers, and policy staff. You will work within multidisciplinary teams alongside Civil Servants, Military, and Contractors, depending on the location.
We will keep a reserve list of all candidates who pass the interview, and you may be contacted within 12 months regarding other Administrative Officer vacancies.
These positions are advertised at 37 hours per week. Some roles may require full-time attendance as they are customer-facing.
Job Description
As an Administration Officer supporting the Army, your responsibilities may include:
* Engaging with military and civilian stakeholders, including managing email correspondence.
* Communicating with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
* Providing routine advice and guidance related to your area of work.
* Using bespoke IT systems (full training provided).
* Electronic file management and records maintenance, including data entry and consolidation, ensuring proper storage and classification.
* Using Microsoft Office 365 programmes (full training provided).
* Performing routine administrative tasks.
Person Specification
No prior administrative experience is necessary! We seek enthusiastic individuals who are team players and can collaborate effectively to ensure successful task delivery.
