An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Practitioner to join our expanding Community Eating Disorders Service in the Specialist Children and Young Peoples CBU (CYP CEDS). The service provides specialist assessment and community treatment for individuals and their families who are experiencing an eating disorder cover a large geographical area of Sunderland, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside. The expectation is the post holder will need to drive across to various satellite bases. The service is committed to working with families, children and young people to support recovery utilising evidence based practice: Family Based Treatment (FBT) alongside monitoring of their physical health wellbeing. This is a full time, band 6 post. You will be a First Level Registered Nurse – RMN/RNMH/RNLD Qualification and have a minimum of 24 months' post qualification experience, preferably within the field of Eating Disorders. Working with this client group you will be adaptable and work well under pressure with strong decision making skills and a positive attitude and approach. The candidate will hold excellent communication skills and demonstrate an understanding of the complexities involved in this specialist area of mental health. The successful candidate will be joining a skilled integrated multi-disciplinary team working with children, young people and families. The service is supportive to its staff offering learning and training opportunities, clinical supervision and a supportive, collaborative team culture. The post holder will be required to travel across the site as needed.
