Description We are looking for a talented Electronic Systems Product Specialist to join our team, specialising in Engineering for our DTO Calibration development department in the United Kingdom. Thie is a hybrid role requiring at least 2 days work in the Darlington office. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve electronic application and systems issues, ensuring smooth operation and reliability of Cummins products. Process Improvement: Apply and enhance development processes and tools, contributing to more efficient and effective system specification, modelling, simulation, calibration, and troubleshooting. Quality Decisions: Gather input from various stakeholders to deliver informed recommendations, leading to high-quality product decisions. Design and Calibration: Make critical decisions in electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and testing, directly impacting the performance and quality of subsystems. Mentorship: Review and guide the work of less-experienced developers and testers, ensuring robust and efficient designs while fostering their growth. Project Leadership: Independently lead smaller projects or complex components, providing clear direction and accountability to the project team. Process Development: Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems within your functional discipline, enhancing overall productivity and innovation. Knowledge Transfer: Coordinate and direct work among technicians and student employees, facilitating the transfer of knowledge and skills to less-experienced engineers. Responsibilities To be successful in this role, you will need the following: Strong Analytical Skills: Develop and manage product systems validation plans, identify failure modes, and evaluate test results to verify product capability and validate requirements. Effective Communication: Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, negotiate product requirements, and collaborate with SMEs and leaders to ensure successful project delivery. Systems Thinking: Define and analyse the system of interest, understand its interactions and lifecycle, and predict its behavior to devise modifications for desired outcomes. Technical Proficiency: Deliver software and calibration for the Euro 7 program, support OEM interactions, and use simulation and automation to enhance efficiency throughout the product development cycle. Qualifications Education/Experience: Required experience in automotive controls/electronics. Responsible for S/W and Calibration delivery for Euro 7 program. Responsible to collaborate cross platforms ensuring commonality in solutions and efficiency in delivery. Responsible to collect and translate OEM requirements into program deliverables. Responsible to collaborate with SMEs and leaders to determine resources and project timelines to ensure successful delivery of project. Support OEM interactions for electronic controls discussions. Proactive issue resolution and support to vehicle and test cell validation. Use of simulation and/or automation to drive efficiency increase throughout product development cycle.
