I’m currently working with one of the UK’s leading wholesale and retail groups on an interesting opportunity for a Category Manager (Confectionery & Biscuits).
This is a high-profile role leading two fast-moving categories, with responsibility for shaping strategy, managing supplier partnerships and driving commercial growth.
My client is a multi-billion-pound business working with many of the UK’s most recognisable FMCG brands, so the scale and exposure on offer here is excellent.
The Role
As Category Manager, you’ll own all aspects of the Confectionery & Biscuits category, from developing strategy and joint business plans, to managing pricing, promotions and supplier income. You’ll also be at the centre of seasonal events, range development and ensuring the right balance of branded and own-label products.
It’s a role where your decisions will directly impact both wholesale and retail customers, so we’re looking for someone with the confidence and category expertise to deliver results in a fast-paced trading environment.
What They’re Looking For
* Proven Category Management experience in FMCG Wholesale or Retail (essential)
* Background in confectionery or biscuits is ideal, but strong adjacent categories (snacks, beverages, grocery) will also be considered
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Experience of creating category strategies and promotional plans
* Strong data and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret performance and market trends
* Commercially minded, resilient and driven with a continuous improvement mindset
This role would suit an experienced Category Manager or Buyer, or perhaps a supplier-side NAM who is looking to make the move into a broader in-house category role.
Onsite Requirement – Why It Matters
This is an onsite role, 5 days per week at my client’s Head Office in Park Royal. The business moves quickly and being together in one space is key to building strong cross-functional relationships, reacting to trading priorities and making sure opportunities are maximised.
