Principal Engineer Kingston upon Thames £60k-£65k plus benefits Are you ready to deliver innovative civil/structural engineering designs on projects in power, energy and renewables sectors? Do you want to design sustainable, intelligent designs? Do you have a full clean drivers licence and your own transport to visit sites? Our client is offering this as a full time, permanent position, which will require travel to construction sites on an ad hock basis, sometimes during unsociable hours. Our client is happy for the successful candidate to work from home 2 days a week, as hybrid. The successful candidate would have a degree level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in a design consultancy (ideally with experience of executing, leading and managing the design of projects within power, energy or renewables sectors). The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and strong analytical and design skills with the ability to interpret design requirements and analyse complex structures. You would need to have strong health and safety management experience including management and maintenance of CDM Risk Registers. Strong knowledge of UK design codes and standards is vital, and you will be proficient in structural analysis and design software such as Tekla, Tedds and Robot. If you have experience working with National Grid, DNOs or renewable energy developers this would be a big advantage. The following are desirable for successful performance in the role: Masters level degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and near or Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (ICE or IStructE).
