Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Berkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Berkshire. At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support local authorities and schools with educational and social-emotional needs
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet the young person’s needs and progress their educational and social-emotional journey
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance with obtaining is available at cost)
* Two professional references
* Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including for remote work
It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position

Individuals with experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, Ex-Teacher, Learning Support Assistant, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, or Inclusion Coordinator are encouraged to apply.
