WSP is recruiting graduates for our Civil teams in a variety of services and locations. The role is designed to give new engineers hands‑on experience, early responsibility and cross‑disciplinary collaboration across both small and large projects.
Locations and Services
* Bridge Engineering – Exeter, Truro, Carlisle, Edinburgh, Glasgow
* Aviation – Airport Planning & Advisory – London
* Pavement Engineering – Derby, Reading, London
Project Highlights
* Bridges: A9 Dualling, A83 Rest & Be Thankful, M8 Woodside Viaducts, HS2 Old Oak Common, and many more.
* Pavement Engineering: Bristol Port, National Highways SDF projects, offshore wind assembly port, and local authority projects.
* Airport Planning & Advisory: Leeds Bradford Airport Strategic Study, Copenhagen Airport Master Plan, Dubai World Central Airport Phase II, and international airport master plans.
Bridge Engineering – Responsibilities
* Support experienced colleagues with structural inspection, assessment, design, strengthening, repair, asset management and project management.
* Conduct bridge inspections using specialist access provision such as pontoons, gantries and confined space entry.
* Organise site visits and perform structural design and assessment calculations.
* Design structural repairs and manage contractor supervision.
* Assist with business development, tendering and project management activities.
Aviation – Airport Planning & Advisory – Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality airport planning and advisory services, including master planning, demand forecasting, capacity analysis, airside and terminal modelling, and sustainability advice.
* Provide technical delivery of planning tasks and capacity analysis for UK and international aviation projects.
* Prepare bids and proposals for new projects.
* Support research on emerging markets such as sustainable aviation fuels, AAM/eVTOLs and carbon reduction.
Pavement Engineering – Responsibilities
* Assist with inspection of local highways and pavement conditions.
* Design pavements to National Highways, military, and commercial airfield standards.
* Plan repairs and maintenance of pavement assets.
* Prepare reports, calculations, specifications and drawings.
Graduate Development Programme
* Two‑year programme providing blended learning, core business and professional skills training, career workshops, mentoring and support for professional registration.
* Opportunities for chartered status through ICE, IStructE and professional institution training agreements.
Qualifications
* Graduated with at least a 2:2 in a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree. Master’s degrees only considered for the Bridge Engineering team.
* Strong passion for engineering and the built environment.
* Desire to solve problems creatively and contribute new ideas.
* Ready to start work in April or September 2026.
