Job Description:
The Role: Working alongside the Home Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home. You will lead and support the staff team, including promoting safeguarding of the young people’s welfare, promoting education and diversity to ensure individual needs are met in line with Ofsted regulations and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
* Supervision and Leadership: Assist the Home Manager in leading and managing the staff team, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
* Operational Oversight: Support daily operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
* Care Planning: Develop and implement individual care plans for each child, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
* Nurturing Support: Build positive relationships, provide emotional and practical support, and foster a safe and loving environment.
* Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain care quality, conducting assessments and implementing improvements.
* Training and Development: Support staff training and promote best practices in childcare.
* Record Keeping: Maintain meaningful records of each child's journey.
* Making Memories: Create opportunities for positive experiences and memories.
* Crisis Management: Respond calmly to emergencies, ensuring proper action and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience working with children and young people in leadership roles within residential or similar settings is essential.
* QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with children and collaborate with colleagues and professionals.
* Confidence to handle challenging situations with patience and calmness.
* Ability to lead a team towards positive outcomes, providing guidance and mentorship.
Hours of Work:
Typically office hours Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends to meet home needs. Participation in the Managers on-call rota is required, with an on-call payment of £1,800 per annum after probation.
